About

Hi! I’m Ash Brown, and I’m a Rewilding Consultant.

Eight years ago, I co-founded the global movement, Ecosystem Restoration Communities, supporting everyday people to restore degraded ecosystems around the world.

During that time I have learned how to bring degraded land back to life, and I am here to help you do the same.

So if you have some land and would like to rewild it, no matter how big or small, I’m excited to support you on your journey to realising your true nature, as a powerful conduit for bringing back life to our degraded landscapes.

Offerings

Wild patios

Wilding our balconies and patio gardens makes a huge difference to hungry insects, rodents and birds looking for food. Planting native plants in pots and planters in urban areas especially is sorely needed.

Gardens make up a significant portion of our land mass in the UK, and contain more biodiversity than our farmland! Rewilding them would make a significantly positive impact on the health of our wildlife.

Wild gardens

Parks and estates offer exciting opportunities for rewilding, as these larger areas give species space to spread and offer food and shelter to those who need more space to thrive.

Wild parks

Our woodlands are in a sorry state across the UK. Their structure and function has been greatly reduced by poor planting and management. But it is relatively easy to turn them back into beautiful biodiverse places once again.

Wild woods

Industrial agriculture is one of the leading causes of biodiversity and ecosystem collapse. It is 100% possible to grow food and restore nature at the same time. Nature rich farms are more productive. It’s a win win.

Step 1: Free Initial Consultation

Once you have made contact and expressed an interest in working together, we can organise a free consultation call on zoom where you can share your thoughts, ideas and plans with me for your land. I can then give you an estimated quote of how much it would cost to work with me. The work will be split into two phases. The first phase is the desk research and the site visit, so I can give you a budget for how much this phase will cost during this initial consultation.

Step 2: Desk Research

The second stage in the process is to spend several days of desk based research, gathering all of the information available about your site, so that I am as informed as possible when we do the site visit. This length of time needed will depend on the size of the project, and will vary accordingly.

Step 3: Site Visit

The next step is to visit your site, and walk the land with you, taking in the sights, sounds and smells and doing a visual site assessment of the health and state of the land, as well as doing lots of talking with you about what you know, have noticed, and want to do with the site. Again, the number of days necessary will vary depending on the size of your site and the level of intervention desired/needed. At the end of the site visit I will go away and come back to you with a quote for the creation of a management plan. This stage is the final stage of phase one.

Step 4: Creating Management Plan

The management plan is. a document that will outline what is needed for you to achieve your goals and dreams for your site. It can be very detailed and budgeted, or fairly light with a rough indication of cost, depending on your budget. Based off of all of the information from the first phase, I will give you a quote for the number of days I’ll need to create your plan for you.

Step 5: Implementing the Plan

You may want to do the work to implement the plan yourself, or you may want support from me and my network of rewilding contractors, or a mixture of both. This can be discussed and decided on a case by case basis, as every project is unique!

Step 6: Ongoing Support

During the implementation phase, if you decide that you’d like to mainly implement your rewilding plan yourself, I offer ongoing support in the form of phone/video calls, as well as site visits if needed, to ensure that you feel supported as you embark on your rewilding journey!
